In PARECON we don't HAVE self-interested supercorporations who abuse our planet and ecosystem as a matter of course- because the people wouldn't WANT such destruction, and there'd be no such thing as profit by financial investment so nobody would get rich just by owning an oil-well anyway!

In regard to your point about busy-ness leading to greater consumption of resources:
I think in PARECON, questions connected with resource consumption (what resources? how are they used? how does that use generate pollution or waste? etc) would ALSO be specifically addressed by councils of citizens. If so, maybe "resource consumption" in PARECON wouldn't have the same implications it does now.

Communism is centrally governed. Parecon would not be. Capitalism is centrally governed and this leads to the many injustices. Parecon addresses these in justices for a better world. Its about people choosing, deciding and having the power to determine that which effects them. Ok. No authority forcing control.
